Looking at Yanmar's "history" which indicates the #100's should be placed aft on the engine : 1. Hunter Marine installed (2) #100 mounts on the aft portion of the engine and (2) #75 mounts on the forward portion of the engine. I feel this choice was made at the instruction of Yanmar. 2.
I will just say that, on the Yanmar GM series engine, the heavy overhanging transmission end requires the heavier engine mounts (both 100#) and the other end requires the lighter engine mounts (both 75#).
Understanding YANMAR engine model codes Most engine model designations are on an engine data plate, on the front or the top of the engine. Some older engines have the data plate on the adapter plate between the engine and the gearbox . Here are some examples of engine model codes and their meanings: YSE8 Y= horizontal cylinder, lying down. SE = engine model type or block type.
Specifications Use the KM2P-1 or the SD20 with the 3YM30 engine. KM2P-1 is a parallel drive with a mechanical cone clutch and SD20 has a constant mesh gear with dog clutch.
Yanmar diesel engine cooling problems can be isolated with little difficulty. The engine's cooling system is made up of a freshwater loop and a raw-water circuit. Clogs can form in the cooling hoses, heater exchangers or in the raw-water strainer, mixing elbow or muffler. A bad water pump or thermostat will reduce water flow as well. Any restriction at any of these points will cause overheating.
I have a yanmar 3ym20 (2007) and I want to change the coolant. On the port side of the engine near the front there is a valve on The fresh water coolant hose for emptying the coolant.
Hello, I am search of a Yanmar SB-8 Service Manual. I've tried to contact Yanmar directly asking for one but they have not gotten back to me. Does anyone have access to one they are willing to share? Thanks!
I like at add a coolant temp gauge to my Yanmar 3ym30 with comes factory equipped with an over temp switch/ buzzer only. Unfortunately, all openings for temp sensors are used because of the water heater that is connected to the coolant system. VDO offers temp sensors with the additional overheat...
From the "Yanmar GM-HM Workshop Manual": "Transmission models KM2A, KM2C, KM2P, KM3A and KM3P The recommended transmission oil is an engine oil that meets API classification CC. The recommended viscosity is SAE 10W-30. Change the transmission oil after every 250 hours of operation." The plate on my KM2A specifies simply SAE 30, so I just go with a straight 30 wt., as I do for the engine. But ...
The yanmar delaer i ordered the gaskets and Orings through was also unaware of this- he also identified that the Orings supplied looked to small- we were both confused.
