Many questions are swirling around the Trump-led Board of Peace, which was originally billed as a committee that would oversee the rebuilding and reconstruction of Gaza.

Nine countries so far – including Hungary – have agreed to join US President Donald Trump’s proposed Board of Peace, a new international body initially focused on Gaza but now promoted by Trump as a broader forum for resolving global conflicts.

Before a signing ceremony planned for Thursday, several nations have agreed to join the board. But many haven’t.

Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Egypt, Jordan, Indonesia, Pakistan and Qatar have accepted invitations to join U.S. President Donald Trump's "Board of Peace", the Saudi foreign ministry said in a joint statement that also included the United Arab Emirates.

Trump said he would consider steep tariffs on French wines if the country's president doesn't join a new Board of Peace to oversee war-torn Gaza.

President Trump will join the White House press briefing at 1 p.m. on Tuesday to mark one year since his second inauguration.
