Kenya’s Faith Kipyegon and Beatrice Chebet both set new world records on Saturday at an extraordinary Diamond League meeting in Eugene, Oregon.

Kipyegon, just over a week removed from her sub-four-minute mile attempt, set the new official mark in the 1,500-meter.

Kenya's Beatrice Chebet smashed the women's 5,000 metres world record with a time of 13 minutes 58.06 seconds at the Eugene Diamond League meet on Saturday, eclipsing the previous record set at the same venue in 2023.
