Texas will join a growing list of college football programs doing away with traditional spring games in favor of a slightly restructured practice slate, coach Steve Sarkisian said during a recent appearance on the "Up & Adams Show.

In another sign of college football's transformation, Texas and USC have joined Nebraska in canceling their spring games. "No, we're not going to have a spring game," Texas coach Sarkisian told Kay Adams on the "Up & Adams Show" podcast Thursday.

AUSTIN — Texas announced Thursday that it will not hold a spring football game for the first time in head coach Steve Sarkisian’s four-year Longhorn tenure.
