Iga Swiatek has played as well as she ever has on grass — well, better than ever, actually — to reach her first Wimbledon final by defeating Belinda Bencic 6-2, 6-0 at Centre Court.

It’s Iga Świątek, the five-time Grand Slam champion who spent 125 weeks as the world No. 1 between early 2022 and late 2024. She’s the No. 8 seed at Wimbledon, but she’s actually the world No. 4. Only four players are left in the draw now, and she is one of them — for the first time.

Swiatek defeated Liudmila Samsonova in the quarterfinals, leading her to the semifinals, 6-2, 7-5. She currently ranks fourth in the women's singles. Meanwhile, Bencic defeated Mirra Andreeva by winning both tie breaks to earn her spot against Swiatek. She now ranks 35th in the women's singles.
