A public inquiry into the wrongful prosecutions of about 1,000 postal workers has uncovered more victims than previously known, according to a report.

Hundreds of employees were wrongly convicted of theft, fraud and false accounting because of a faulty computer system.

The first report on the findings from an inquiry into the Post Office Horizon IT scandal has been published. It reveals for the first time the full extent of the suffering of sub-postmasters and others who were affected by being wrongly accused of stealing money and false accounting, based on incorrect data.
