Rory McIlroy has won his sixth Race to Dubai title after triumphing in the season-ending DP World Tour Championship. The 35-year-old has now won three successive Race to Dubai crowns and his sixth overall — previously winning in 2012, 2014, 2015, 2022 and 2023 — to match the record of golfing legend Seve Ballesteros on the European tour.

Rory McIlroy ended the season in style. The popular Northern Irish golfer managed to win the DP World Tour Championship, as well as the Race to Dubai. The 35-year-old golfer held the lead in the DP World Tour Rankings before the Race to Dubai.

Thriston Lawrence is the only player who can stop McIlroy winning that title — and to do that he needs a victory at Jumeirah Golf Estates. That appeared unlikely, with a 71 leaving Lawrence at level par for the week and nine off the lead at the halfway stage.

His fourth worldwide win of the season resulted in McIlroy being crowned as Race to Dubai champion for the sixth time.

And Tom McKibbin—the last man standing in 10th place—was one over for the last 11 and surely the most relieved member of the group. With a birdie on the last hole, the Northern Irishman from Rory McIlroy’s home club of Holywood, ended just 10.5 points ahead of Jordan Smith.
