The South Carolina Gamecocks will head to Columbia with another loss on their record after giving up 28 second-half points to fall to the No. 3 Texas A&M Aggies in historic fashion.

South Carolina lawmakers improperly gave themselves a $1,500 monthly raise, the state Supreme Court ruled Wednesday in a unanimous decision that will end up cutting legislators' pay by thousands of dollars.

Deputies are investigating after a man was reportedly shot to death in Columbia. The Richland County Sheriff’s Department said in a release that deputies responded at about 7 p.m. Nov. 11 to the 1700 block of Nearview Drive in reference to a shooting. That’s just west of Percival Road and Interstate 77 in northeast Columbia.

But the South Carolina Supreme Court rejected that appeal late Monday, writing that even if Bryant’s defense had done more investigation into whether he had Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, it simply would have given a different reason for his problems while not changing the outcome of a death sentence.

Columbia Police are questioning a person of interest following a shooting in a parking lot on the 2700 block of Middleburg Dr. Friday morning. Officers responded to the scene around 10:45 a.m. where they found a man had been shot. He was taken to the hospital for treatment and is said to be in stable condition.

Mike Sharavjamts scored 13 points to lead four in double-figure scoring, and South Carolina jumped out to an early lead and beat Presbyterian 81-61 on Wednesday night.
