A candlelight vigil was held outside Animal Care and Protective Services (ACPS) to honor “Miracle,” the name rescuers gave a severely emaciated Great Dane found on the side of a Jacksonville road.

When Ingrid Santucci lost her 10-year-old Great Dane last spring, another dog just miles away was beginning her own fight.

JSO reports Miracle passed away from starvation and dehydration; the dogs owner was arrested on an animal cruelty charge.
