A volcanic eruption in southwestern Iceland has once again forced the evacuation of local residents and tourists at the internationally known Blue Lagoon geothermal spa.

Tourists at Iceland's Blue Lagoon geothermal spa were forced to pack up and get out as a volcanic eruption left lava oozing from a 3,000-foot fissure in the ground.

The eruption occurred in the early hours of July 16. Officials say lava is flowing towards uninhabited areas and is not an immediate danger to those nearby
