Syrian interim president Ahmed al-Sharaa is expected to formally ask Russia to extradite former ruler Bashar al-Assad, who has been living in exile in Moscow since his ouster late last year. The request will be made during al-Sharaa’s first official visit to Russia on Wednesday, according to a senior government official familiar with the agenda.
