Julio César Chávez Jr., son of boxing legend, was detained by immigration authorities over visa issues, criminal charges and alleged cartel affiliations.

Federal officials say famed Mexican boxer Julio César Chávez Jr. has been arrested and will be deported to Mexico, where he faces organized crime charges.

Chávez, formerly the world middleweight champion, was detained by immigration officials in California. He is wanted on organized crime charges in Mexico, DHS said.
