Changes are on the way after a quiet Thanksgiving Day. Showers and rumbles move in on Friday night, followed by a much stronger front and the coldest air of the season by Sunday.
Forecasters say there’s a high level of uncertainty over how the storm system will develop, how strong it will be and where it will track.
However, recent forecasts show no rain is expected for Northern California on the holiday. Instead, foggy conditions are likely to linger through Saturday, Nov. 29, across Northern California and the Central Valley, including Sacramento, Modesto, Merced and Fresno.
The National Weather Service reports moisture with this most recent system has been on the low side with less than 0.15 inches of rain recorded in the valleys from late Monday through 8 p.m. Tuesday. Wednesday’s rain will be more robust, and an additional half inch is possible in the metro area.
