Benjamin Hanil Song is among 11 people facing three counts of attempted murder of federal agents and three counts of discharging a firearm during a violent act.

The suspect is believed to have fired two AR-15-style rifles at three officers, and his criminal complaint document says he was in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves for five years.

The FBI is searching for Benjamin Hanil Song in connection with a July 4 shooting at the Prairieland Detention Center in Alvarado, an ICE-operated facility.

The July 4 attack is just one in a series of recent attacks against federal immigration officers. On Monday, July 7, U.S. Border Patrol agents in the Rio Grande Valley fatally shot a Michigan man who launched an attack at their McAllen facility before dawn.
