Six people were injured in a boat explosion involving unpermitted fireworks on Lake Martin Friday night, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA). It happened at about 9:14 p.m. when the pontoon boat that had been modified into a fireworks platform malfunctioned during a planned fireworks celebration near the Kowaliga Basin in Blue Creek.
