An Irving police officer has died after being involved in a crash while he was off-duty this week. The Irving Police Department said there was a multi-vehicle accident on Nov. 15 involving Officer Jerome Scholz.

A 38-year-old Irving police officer was killed in a motorcycle crash Friday afternoon, officials said. Officer Jerome Scholz was off-duty when the accident occurred, according to an Irving Police Department news release. He died at a local hospital less than an hour later.

Officers responded to the scene at about 1:07 a.m. Saturday and found that a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado had collided head-on with a Harley-Davidson motorcycle, according to a statement.

The coroner’s office said that the crash happened at 7:05 p.m., on Highway 20 and Sheppard Road in Belton. South Carolina Highway Patrol said the motorcyclist was traveling west on Highway 20 when the motorcyclist hit an SUV that had turned left at the intersection of the highway and Crawford Road.

The crash was reported shortly before 3 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 17 near East Stop 11 Road and Emerson Avenue on the south side of Indianapolis.

SOUTH SALT LAKE — Police have confirmed the identity of the woman killed in a motorcycle crash in South Salt Lake Wednesday. The accident happened at the corner of Truman Avenue and Main Street about noon.
