Shares of Bloom Energy surged after the company said it would power Oracle artificial-intelligence data centers. The stock was up 24% earlier in the session to reach its 52-week high of $33.33. Shares have now more than doubled over the past 12 months.
Bloom Energy said it will deploy its fuel cell technology at select Oracle Cloud Infrastructure data centers in the US.
OpenAI and SoftBank didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment on the report. However, OpenAI appeared to indirectly push back against any concerns on Tuesday, announcing an agreement with Oracle to develop 4.5 gigawatts of additional Stargate data-center capacity in the U.S., containing more than two million chips.
