Police say a suspect was arrested in Paramus, New Jersey, in the shooting that critically injured a Philadelphia school safety officer at the end of June.

A police shooting occurred in Sherwood on Sunday afternoon, resulting in an arrest, the Sherwood Police Department said. Officials offered no details, saying only that “an officer-involved shooting took place” at 21900 Southwest Langer Farms Parkway at about 4:22 p.m. and that the “suspect is in custody and there is no threat to the public.”

Ariza Giansteban, 28, was arrested in Paramus and awaits extradition to Philadelphia for his alleged involvement in the June shooting of an on-duty Philly school safety officer.
