Among the dead are 27 children and counselors from Camp Mystic, a private Christian girls’ camp along the Guadalupe River, where floodwaters swept through in the pre-dawn hours of Independence Day with little warning.

Katheryn Eads was among the victims of the tragic flooding. She was a psychology senior lecturer at the University of Texas at San Antonio. Professor Eads joined UTSA in 2022 and became a full-time faculty member in the Department of Psychology in the College for Health, Community and Policy this year, according to UTSA.
