Hours after an Amber Alert was issued for Melina Frattolin on July 20, the 9-year-old was found dead in Ticonderoga, N.Y. Police said 'there is no indication that an abduction occurred' after finding 'inconsistencies' in her father's account of events.

Police have charged Melina's father Luciano Frattolin with murder in the case. The medical examiner said her death was a homicide and caused by drowning.

A 9-year-old girl was abducted by an unknown suspect at New York’s Lake George, according to an Amber Alert received by some Massachusetts residents. New York State Police said in the alert that the girl, Melina Galanis Frattolin, was last seen at 9:40 p.m. on Saturday in a white van on Interstate 87 near exit 22.
