By Martyn Herman LONDON (Reuters) -World number one Jannik Sinner shrugged off any doubts about his injured elbow to reach the Wimbledon semi-final for the second time with a clinical defeat of powerful American 10th seed Ben Shelton on Wednesday.

Jannik Sinner sure didn’t play like someone dealing with an injured right elbow Wednesday, using terrific serving and his usual booming forehand to dismiss 10th-seeded Ben Shelton 7-6 (2), 6-4, 6-4 and earn a second appearance in the Wimbledon semifinals.

Two power hitters competing in a slugfest early transitioned into a calculated display of consistency from World No. 1 Jannik Sinner during Wednesday's straight sets win over Ben Shelton in the quarterfinals at Wimbledon.
