Camimi experienced her very first palengke! From the sounds of vendors calling out their specials, to the colors of fresh fruits and vegetables stacked high, she was wide-eyed at every corner. Moments like these remind me how important it is that our daughter grows up surrounded by the culture and traditions of both Guam and the Philippines. Someday, when she’s older, she’ll look back and know that her roots stretch across oceans, connecting her to both of her island homes. | Will Parkinson
