This week, we carried out a training exercise as part of our ongoing training programme. The exercise involved specialist rope rescue teams from Westlea and Poole, alongside firefighters and the Aerial Ladder Platform from Salisbury Fire Station. As part of the training, crews simulated the rescue of an injured person from height within the cathedral. The casualty was lowered from level 8 of the tower to the roof space above the nave, where they were then moved via a stretcher out of a window an
